Open Access/Walk-In
CMHS understands the importance of eliminating barriers for our community members to get in for the services they desire. To that end we have adopted an Open Access process for intake for new consumers.
Behavioral Health Services
For behavioral health services you can come to the William H. Kyles Building or Pierson D. Phillips Building Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. For more information, please call (816) 836-6705.
Outpatient Substance Use Services
For outpatient substance use services, you can come to the George Norman Jr. Building or to the Recovery Kansas City Building from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday.
What to Bring
- A picture ID
- Proof of residency in the form of a piece of first-class mail (utility bill, for example)
- Insurance cards (if you have insurance)
- Court-ordered guardianship papers when applicable
The process to open your chart will take approximately 2 hours in addition to wait time and you will leave with the appointments you need for your continued care.
